Happy Halloween! I hope your day is filled with peaceful watching of Hocus Pocus, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, possibly some Pumpkin Cheesecake Truffles (or anything else pumpkin!), and definitely some trick-or-treating. While peacefully watching of Hocus Pocus is ideal (obviously), I'm going to go ahead and guess that Halloween came a bit faster than you thought it would. You had hundreds of beautiful Halloween-esque food ideas pinned on Pinterest. You were convinced you would become a gourmet chef or go craft crazyAnd yet here we are, Halloween is upon us, and you have neither the time nor the supplies to go Pinterest-crazy.
It's fine. Here I come. To save the day.
All you need for these Halloween treats is crackers, chocolate chips, and a plastic bag! :)
Ingredients:
- Chocolate Chips (1 cup)
- Crackers (20)
- Plastic Bag
Directions:
- Microwave chocolate chips in a bowl for 90 seconds. Remove from microwave, stir, and then heat for another 30 seconds. Stir nonstop for about 2 minutes to smooth out the chocolate (if you have lumps, it won't easily squeeze out of the bag. Add 1/2 tsp of vegetable oil to thin).
- Dump chocolate chips into a plastic bag (if you have a frosting piping bag, use that). Snip off a very little bit at the end and test piping. Continue to cut a bit more of the bag until you reach the desired opening size.
- On crackers, begin by piping an overlapping "x" and "+" so that you create what looks somewhat like an asterisk. Then, beginning on the outside, continue to connect the lines, spiraling inward.
- Let chocolate air dry or put in the fridge for 1 hour.
