A Tale of Four Wisdom Teeth

I gots ma teefs out. Four of them, to be exact. Which explains my absence for three days last week. I know, it was rough for you.

It was rough for me too! Day One entailed Antibiotics, Prescription Strength Ibuprofen, and Vicodin. I would say that, for the most part, this entails the first 8 hours of my first day post-op:

 

Yes, I look like an insane person. To be fair, the last thing I remember before going "under" is this conversation...

Doc: You have about 18 seconds before you pass out.
Me: Bye! (Waves)
Doc: How's it taste? Some people say it tastes like garlic.
Me: Oh, I like garlic!
Doc: It's good for you!
Me: Yeah, and it keeps away the vampires, too! (Passes out)

So in short, yes, I'm crazy. I look pretty happy in this pic, but I should share that the Vicodin didn't agree with me particularly well. By the time 4:00pm rolled around, I was practically doing lamaze breathing. It was like having nausea contractions. Not good.

Seriously, though, getting your wisdom teeth taken out is not... so... bad. First, look at all the yums I got to eat! 

Top row: Lemon Jello (Delicious, you know the recipe, folks, it's on the box!), a yummy smoothie my mom brought me.

Bottom Row: A bizarre pain killer concoction... Lemon Jello, Lime Jello, Raspberries, Blueberries, and Whipped Cream! Sooo yums.

Obviously because of this spectacular food, my condition (and lucidness) improved throughout the weekend. Proof of these sure-but-gradual gains:

 
And finally, a picture summary of my wonderful, pain killer clad, nausea filled weekend:

• I watched an entire season of Weeds in less than 24 hours (and I sadly don't remember all of it, which is a lesson on watching important shows while on pain killers!). Also watched: Entourage and J.Edgar (which was a painfully slow movie with hardly any plot, which actually required me to be drugged in order to stay sitting through the entire thing).
• My wonderful mommy brought me flowers! I love her so much. We watched a 30 minute speech by Amy Seiffert on the book Captivating and beauty. I was reminded of the book when my mom brought me flowers (sometimes beauty speaks in ways we can't articulate on our own, particularly with grief and/or healing), and I remembered once upon a time watching this little gem. Quite a pick me up, if you ask me. Watch the video here.
• My puppy is so cute! And bizarre. Corgis and mommys are cute.
• Also, not pictured would be bf, who woke up during the night to fill my odd face boob ice thing, and my dad, who checked on me constantly. Dey nice at me :)
